The photo-essay

* Mummy, I really have to post these wonderful pictures here. Your photography skills are getting better better and better.* My mum, she loves photography like crazy. Her group of 'crazy' photography-arty-drawing-painting-writing friends, they are just too awesome. They really love photography and would take no matter what to stay up late, or wake up very early to climb the mountains, walk into the bushes, just to wish to capture the beautiful scenery. They would wait hours and hours just to capture the moment of birds eating worms. They would spend days together by exploring the mountain, tea plantation, botanic garden even just a small unknown village to capture the motherly, brotherly love , the innocent kids , the beautiful and kind smiles from elderly.They would grab their professional cameras out, every each of them, with only one main purpose, just to capture the very meaningful moments. *wholeheartedly*

And I can see that they had a very juicy trip this time. I am so jealous! Bring me mum, next time. would you?

Look at the hummingbird. Oh My god. Oh my god. I love them. I've had seen them some times before when they stopped by my house. They are so tiny and so adorable. They are altogether 17 species. Do you know that hummingbirds can fly right, left, up, down, backwards, even upside down? And also most hummingbirds flap their wings about 50 or so times a second.*amazing*

No Experience

It's pretty hard at first, when you got no experience working in a chinese-fast-food centre, no experience with the cash register, no experience with the different drinks and prices, and so on. My very first time. The first training day was very tiring for me. I am amazed by how I could just stand and serve customers from 8am until 5pm. But by the time I get home, my legs were already numb. haha. And also, I burnt my hand *accidentally* with the hot food. *Hmmph* be more careful! But things are getting better and better when I finally know how to use the cash register machine, when I know how to put things in order, when I know how to serve customers with my beautiful smile. I found it much more easier to perform than the first day. And the girls just treat me so nice. But there are one thing that I hate about the kitchen, I guess this is how most of the restaurants work, it is just not been taken care with enough details. I got pretty upset and I don't even feel like eating at all. Probably that was the first time I ever seen a kitchen like that before. *yiakss* Not something extremely dirty, afterall, the food is cooked, but to me it is just not so 'clean'.

Getting to know more people, nice people. Getting to learn how to handle cash. Getting to serve better and better with great manner. These are the things I learnt from this part-time job so far. I even wrote down the prices for every meals, dishes, drinks, and entree. Just to make sure things will running easier for me next time. Although this is only a part time job. The purpose for not-to-waste-my-free-time, but I am glad that I have the ability to perform tasks like this. I will keep up with it!

Thanks to my friends and family, they are just too great to have. Always being supportive. :)

The absolute Hanaichi fever. 4 of us went out for Japanese dinner the other night. And to be honest, the chicken curry rice is very delicious. And that's the only thing we will order for lunch, always. *haha* But this time, we went to try the Hanaichi dinner, *Hmmph* It was only okay if compare to the chicken curry rice. Love the chicken curry rice! But the dinner was still nice overall. Hm, I guess the portion of the meal is a little bit too small for a guy. *hehe*

The Observation day

Yesterday, was another tiring day for me. An Observation day for a Toys marketing and sales company. A total new type of experience I ever had.Since the time I've woke up by 6.30am until I return from the office at 6.30pm, i had been standing and walking for the whole day long under a hot sunny day, with my professional attire. *OH my GOd*

First, I was being introduced by the manager to one of the trainers there,Jason, and another trainee I was then asked to watch, and observe my trainer for the following day,observe and learn his professional way of talking, presenting, promoting the products. We headed off to Gold cost, we went to alot of places yesterday. This is something new and great to see.

But, something that really annoyed me was the other trainee. He is a really bad driver,a 'zig-zag road driver *They are both Australians* With his rude manner, the way he talks,i really couldn't stand anymore. The jokes he made, *Oh no, I woulnd't want to understand a single of them, because there are really cheap* Alright, I think I better stop elaborating his madness here. *I was wondering, is this the Australian culture? That really pissed me off. And the way they smokes, can somebody help me? I was nearly fainted.

However, there was still some up sides about the day. Jason, is a very professional, and hardworking guy. He showed his patient, his humor, his positive attitude towards every customers.*Good job* And I really learnt alot this time from him.

After a hectic day, we finally returned to the office at around 6 in the evening. Everyone was tired. I was then had to fill in this 'observation' booklet, and see if I could pass the 'understanding' of this marketing and sales company evaluation. *Hmmph* I did a good job! the manager then said "Congratulation! You may proceed to the next stage, If you can make it tomorrow by 7.30am, I would appreciate that" But, I rejected it after a long thought. This job doesn't suit me. really. Next time, I would have to go out by myself to different companies, different shops, different factories to promote our products. This is dangerous. Without any easy transportations, this would just make things even more harder. I wouldn't want to take the risk. But, this is something valuable that will be kept in my memory for long.

I think I would just have to get myself well-prepared for the following graphic/web designer's interview. =)

Meiji 365 Birthday teddy - the japanese toy

My new Japanese bear - Yesterday I've also received a very meaningful birthday gift from someone special. A very cute and unique teddy, which is born the same day as me. *there is a little name tag attached to the teddy written " birthday 12th of May" Very meaningful. *Hmmph, but after I carefully checking the teddy from his head until the toes, I don't see any similarity between me and him. HAhaa.or maybe its a she....*Are you sure we were born from the same day?*. The teddy is wearing a hm...not-so-beautiful cloth. =P *Just joking* I love it! The whole package came long with a small bag of marble chocolate. When I first opened it, i thought I had to feed the teddy with the "food" provided. HAhaa..*silly me*

And the postal fee is actually more expensive than the total cost of the books. *eye-rolling* From novels to delicacies for slim, from fashion magazines to Dr's guide to toxin-free living, from Y. Generation to M o v e magazine....*Hooray* I am gonna put some of them in the toilet, some beside my bed, and some in my handbags. *muaks, ma, I am so obsessed with the novels just by the artistic and illustrative look. I am 100% sure I will be in love with the storylines very soon. *Smile broadly*

S h o o b i z

After I left from the interview place, I decided to spend my whole afternoon shopping and hunting for nice and comfy shoes. That high heels I was wearing were really killing me, not only causing pain but also causing embarrassment as well. *ashamed* *Not bad hey, first time I went there and I found out where the big shopping mall was* Here starts my hunting-for-shoe journey. I went to every shops that sell shoes. Every single one. But I wasn't having any lucks at all. Most of the shops were having mad-may big sales. I couldn't get the correct size for my feet. *most of the sizes were gone* and the one I don't like, they have plenty of sizes available. So I was just resting my feet on the carpet floor, wandering around. *moving very slowly* Finally I stepped into Shoobiz, they were having big sales as well which was great!!. This was how I got myself a new boots. *hehe* Very comfy - definitely a pair of tough boots for walking, fun day/ night out, also well presented for formal occasions. *winks Winks*

Indooroopilly, an indeed paradise for shopping. The mall is huge and clean. The mall has 3 levels/ floors. This is quite rare in Australia. Normally the shopping mall here would not have too many floors.*big space for sure* This is the first 3-floors shopping mall I've even seen in Australia. * Only if I din't miss out any *

Also, there are some cute, aesthetically pleasing arty-crafty accessories stalls sitting in the middle of the hall, which really reminds me of shopping complex in Malaysia and Singapore.

Completely exhausted

I woke up by 6.30am in the morning. I got myself ready, had breakfast, well-prepared, going for interview at somewhere in Yeerongpilly. *My first time travelling there* And, I was lost! I was trying hard to find my way to the bus stop in Indooroopilly. Hahaa.I was stucked under the subway and when I finally found the bus stop. The next thing I knew is, I've just missed the bus. It was 9am in the morning, so i called up the help centre, and they told me I have to wait till 10am for the next bus, *Oh no* In mind, I said to myself, "I am going to be late for my interview" *my interview time is 10am* So i called up, and apologized. They were pretty fine with it. hehe *Phew* Luckily I did bring along my new book *just bought it few days ago on big book sales* "Split Ends" by Zoe Barnes *will discuss more about the content when I finish reading*

So finally I got onto the bus, but, I missed the bus stop that I am supposed to get down. OH MY GOD! And it made me walk and walk again. Is this a punishment for eating too much? * I wonder* Hmmph * Therefore, it took me roughly one hour to get to the company.with my high heels on. *Ouuuchhhhh* Can you imagine?

But there is one good news to share.

Japanese's look-alike

Sometimes I think I am pretty daring, messing with my hair. This time I cut it straight, without any hesitation, and as a result I look quite 'nerdy'. Hahaa... but to me nerdy and silly looks equal to cute and adorable. hehe....*Winks* Everyone needs a fresh look from time to time. Few days ago, I paid a visit to Tinbilly Travellers, An ideal travel agency for budget travel and bakpackers. I was just browsing and waiting to be served (I was there to ask if there's any job vacancy) And here came along 2 japanese guys,(I assumed from their look ) one of them approached me, and started by saying "hi my name is...takashi yutaka iyugo etc etc..*whatever, I couldn't remember* I was like "Huh??" What are you talking about?" *I thought, raising an arching eyebrow* Then only he asked, are you Japanese?

Oh hell no, of course I am not. I don't think I look like one. ^^

Hail across Brisbane

Last night, there was a 'snow storm' across Toowong, Brisbane. Unbelievable, the hailstorm caused damaging cars and buildings in the inner-western suburb of Toowong. *Wooooaaaa* Frozen rain falling like a 'snow' shower. And there were more than 200 lightning strikes last night. *Stun* According to the news, the streets were covered in hail and all the drains around the village were blocked and started flooding into the centre. *Shocking*

Amazing rainbows!!

The other day, while I was looking out from the room, I saw this beautiful and unique scenery. Something unusual. 2 rainbows appearing at the same time! Hmmph. the picture above doesn't really show the fainter one clearly.(But don't you think it's such a nice picture too? =p) I was so amazed by the beautiful rainbows. It was just too amazing. My first time sawing 2 rainbows appearing at the same time. *WOoooahh*

Pictures were taken from my apartment's balcony. The whole thing was just too beautiful. Sky was full with colors! 2 rainbows!

Here are some little fact I found about the 2 rainbows:

" Rainbows are the combined refraction and reflection of light from millions of raindrops. The rainbow formed is dependent on 3 things: the movement of the raindrops, the position of the sun, and the position of the observer. A fainter rainbow can appear above the primary rainbow when light is reflected in the raindrops once for the primary bow and twice for the secondary bow. The brighter, primary bow is closer to the ground and is violet to red. The second, fainter rainbow is just above the first and its colours are inverted-red to violet. The secondary bow is fainter because the sunlight is weaker when reflected twice. According to NASA scientists, double rainbows are special, but not terribly rare........"

On this big day of mine, we went out for 'birthday' dinner. We hang around at the city first, then headed up for our dinner. hehe. The Mongolian Lamb was pretty yummy and delicious. But the vercelli was just alright. Not too bad though.

We were conversing about alot of things that night. From friends' stories to our own thoughts about something. It was a very meaningful night. A gate to open up more opportunities for us to know more about each other.

It was such a cold and frosty night. There was no way we could just chilling outside. So we decided to go to the conrad treasury. Okay, here I have to state clearly that I am not a gambler. But last night, I was really lucky. It was really my night. *Grin* I started to play with 2.50 dollars, and I was too lucky to win back 35 bucks. hehee....* hooray * Even the dealer was looking at me with open-mouthed. *Blek*

Never give in to temptation? No,absolutely, not for ice cream. haha.

I love gelatissimo. Last night, I had one scoop of the non-fruit flavour - cioccolato, and 2 other scoops of the fruit flavours- the lemon and raspberry. *yummy*

I always love the sour and sweet flavour. My favourite. I was eating and enjoying like a small kid. *gigglingly*

And I had a very 'professional' camera man with me, busy taking picture of me like I was the super star. *muahahaaa*

I had a very best birthday this year.Thank you dearby for all the surprises. *Thank you to everyone who has given me the best supports and best blessings. I had a very bad birthday last time. I was fallen into a deep upset and dissapointing mode. That was how I lost trust in a friendship. That was how I understand more about human beings. That was how I saw the evil side of human beings. Too many things were bothering me. I was struggling hard that time. I couldn't believe someone would had done something like that to hurt me.Bad. bad. Alright. forget it. It was pass. It was not worth it =)

Another thing that touches my heart. My good friend drew a little image of me. haha. *Laugh out loud* His drawing? *hhmmphh* Dare not to say. hahaa..but hey. I appreciate lah. hehe. *huggie* Although I am more prettier =P

Thank you mama and papa. My dad called me up last night while i was sleeping soundly at around 3am. He was in china. I would never forget the things he has said to me. *although i was in a very blury mode last nite hehe* I was so touched. I seriously have no idea what words to be used to describe my feeling. He is such a cute and awesome daddy. Ok. here is what he said (i'll just reveal a little bit ) "Lei, happy birthday, Pa was a little bit busy recently. but never misunderstand that Pa doesnt concern about you har..=). It was such a mess

I got myself a part time job in a Chinese Restaurant somewhere in Stafford. First day, i was being taught how to set up a dining table with beautiful flower decoration, how to recgonize which bill goes to which counter, different drinks have to be filled with different kind of glassess, short, long, big, etc etc. The first night was pretty alright, with the help of another girl, I was able to learn in a very comfy environment. Serving the customers with smile on my face and the ice waters in my hand. Not to forget to say "Please enjoy your meal" or "No problem". I have yet to know most of the drinks, cocktails, wines, beers, etc. And also the entree, appetizers, main course, so on and so on.

However, the second night, it was such a mess! Altogether we had about 50 customers came into the shop constantly. Everyone was so busy. And me, I was standing at the bar most of the time, trying to help to take the drink orders from approaching customers. But but, I really din't know how to mix the drinks. Rum and coke? What is that. HAha. Therefore, I was there only to remind the other guys which drinks they should make for the customers. And I was so nervous if they had forgotten, because the customers ordered from me!

*Hmmph* I wasn't really happy about my working time. I had no dinner ! And I had to starve myself! When the time I got back home. It was nearly 9 o'clock already. *Sigh*

Hello, uncle, Please tell me what to do, what should I do. Please don't say " I don't know " everytime I ask Come on' This is my first time! *Grrrr*

But I had to say that the other 2 guys were pretty helpful. They taught me things even when they were in a very super duper busy mode. *Thank you*

Work out work out

Finally I am out of here to get some sports done. *Wooh Hooh* Today was my first time visiting The university of Queensland. I was actually quite excited about it. ;)

On our way to UQ, we saw a number of people getting their wedding photos done today. And a lovey dovey couple sitting in their horse-drawn wedding vehicle. *Sweet sweet*

They even waved at me when I was taking this photo. hehe *Congratulation!*

There were around 18 people came for the badminton session today.

I felt so vigorous and energetic after the games. It was so so great to have some sports. But you know , sometimes I am just too lazy. *blush* How I wish my dear ying was here. hehee....* i miss u * and to those people who are currently enjoying holiday in Singapore, I miss you guys so so much! *hugs*

Ohya, after 2 hours of badminton games, we took ferry - the citycat- back to the city. The night was very cooling and breezy. *twinkle twinkle little stars*

The last day of Buddha birthday festival

Here are the updates ..*winks winks* I went again to the Buddha birthday festival on Sunday. *In case you don't know or you miss out my previous blog entry. I went on Saturday night as well. There are some gorgeous pictures I've posted.- Read more -

- The Chung Tian temple-

It is indeed a very arty- crafty festival. Everywhere is full of beautiful crafted artworks. Here are some of the lovely lattern. They are so cute !

There was this amazing ice sculpture creator demonstrating his superd skills to the crowd. I couldn't believe how long it takes him to finish the artwork. It was absolutely amazing!

There was lion dance as well. hehe...It was so glad to know that the chinese traditional lion dance did attract alot of western people as well. =D I think they were amazed by how lion dancers move their steps.

finally it was time for the multifaith blessing and light offering ceremony. We were all gathered and everyone was holding candle light in our hand, while listening to multifaith blessing. *We had to stand for quite some times * The phenomenon was unbelievable. you could see people from different cultures, different religions, were all gathered together for this common purpose, the only one purpose, that is to wish that everyone could always be in peace and harmony.
