2 0 0 5 Buddha birthday festival

I have to say last night was a great great great night. We went to the buddha birthday festival at Suncorp Piazza & cultural forecourt, South Bank. There are a series of programs, such as fun & food fair, lion dance, bathing buddha ceremony, ice sculpture, multicultural performances,multifaith blessing, fireworks, and etc etc etc,

There are also different arts and crafts demonstration workshop and exhibition! such as, the dough modelling, paper carving, pottery workshop..and so on..

We went there pretty late last night. So we din't get to see the lion dance and the arts and crafts workshop. (but i will go there again today..so that i dint miss any of these.. hehe..) *Wait for my new 'buddha birthday festival" update * *Winks*

1. Please kneel on cushion

2. Fill ladle and pour water over small Buddha statue 3 times

3. While pouring water, say:

"May i eliminate all evil thoughts"

"May i help save all living beings"

It was pretty crowded. It is such a wonderful thing to know that even western people also show their great appreciations on this particular festival. This festival really attracts different range of people to come and celebrate it together.

I feel extremely peace inside this hall. We did the buddha bathing again here.

Y o g a - stress less

I had my first yoga class today. The place was so relaxing! with the warm lights, and peaceful music turned on.I was totally relaxed, enjoyed, and relieved. What we had learnt today were all very basic yoga poses. But i got to relax myself and stretch my whole body for the entire class which is really great! I also learnt that yoga blankets and mats are the essential tools for the practice of Yoga postures. We all had to extend our hands or legs or body to our most comfortable limit, Of cousre, breath in and out along with the correct yoga breathing technique. Breathing practices are very important part of the practice of Yoga.

I did some ballet when I was young. That might be the reason why i could still do a little bit of stretching today. But the whole ballet thingy was long long time ago, and i never practise *blush*

After the yoga class, I went to do some research and had some practices at home.*Practice makes perfect* hehe..

*Those have not been taught yet during the class*

Ushtra- asana- "The Camel Pose"- The ushtra-asana is a powerful posture for stretching the spine, back muscles, shoulders, and arms.

Chakra-asana - "The wheel pose- The chakra asana is the strength and suppleness it restores to the spine. It strengthens the arms, shoulders, and upper back as well and stimulates the cardiovascular system.

The nail art

I never know there was this non toxic + waterbased + peel-off nail polish. It doesn't have the normal nail polish smell. However, The vividness is not as pretty as normal nail polisher. Secretly tell you guys, this thing cost USD $20.00, but i only bought it with AUD $2 . *Grinnz*

I love music

We were hanging around in the city. And went to this shop which sells most of the music instruments. The instruments are so beautiful! They have super power keyboards and pianos with different editing softwares, which allow musicians to record and edit songs. *coool* So we ended up playing piano (me) and guitar (danny) there. *hehe* while there were some other people playing flute and keyboard there as well...and david? he was just pretending to be our loyal fan .*muahahaa* Like a big orchestra hey...

Welcome to this beautiful world, Keisha!

I found myself keep staring at this beeeeautiful, adoOoorable baby. Her name is Keisha. Her mother, a lovely lady named Yin Yin, is also a member of the Taiwan Study Tour of 1999. We were from different groups that time, the tour consisted around 300+ people. It is pretty hard for our friendship to blossom. But but, there is always a "but", a year later I met her during my holiday in China- shanghai, nanjing, wuxi...We met at china's airport. We both found each other very famaliar. Till then, only we started to talk, and get to know each other more. She was another tour guide that time.It was a coincidence! She know my tour guide, and therefore, she can make arrangements for us to meet up during free time. hehee....this is how we build up our friendship. I will never forget! she is now married to a canadian guy, living happily in Canada. I feel so happy for her when i see the cute baby. She told me Keisha is her lucky 7 because she was born at 7:00. April 7th and she is 7lbs.

Big hug for both of you!!!

my new pet- Venus fly trap

On Thursday, I went to Chinatown by myself. My first time visiting Chinatown alone. I walked around the valley, I discovered book stores that rent out comics and chinese novels, lots of chinese restaurants, ( Of course ) hehe..And i found one florist, selling all sort of beautiful, gorgeous flowers. They look so cute! Finally i've chosen " Dionaea muscipula". What??What is that? hehe.its the venus fly trap.

Dionaea muscipula is a fascinating carnivorous plants.They eat flies. hehehe. For more information about the exact mechanism of the traps, the trigger hair sensitivity, the role of temperature, the process of digestion, please visit the venus flytrap.

It requires a minimum of 4 hours of direct sunlight a day or filtered light all day. And do not forget Dionaea muscipula have to be kept in a tray of water. And and and, we can not touch the traps, if the trap is set off by a speck of debris, the trap will close for nothing. And this is harmful for "Dion" (I suggested a shortcut name for this fly trap. hehe)

Take a closer look. hehe. If an insect is successfully caught, the lobes will seal tightly for a week to allow digestion process.

Seriously, they look extremely cute and tiny! "Dion" I love you. hehe.

Stay away from lightning girl.

A book written by stephen cummings . Love the book cover very much. Gave me a very mystical feel when i first looked at it. " bittersweet, tender and funny " The moral of this story is to teach the readers never give up or underestimate ourselves. you will never know what you can best come out with in the end. Although i find the storyline a little bit boring, but i enjoyed learning some of the beautiful words and beautiful phrases used by him. One of the australia's finest songwriters.

Its a beautiful saturday. What are you doing?

Hours passed, sitting in a corner that belongs to myself, i feel rather satisfied, and pleased. Reading, listening to music, wandering infront of my computer has became my daily habits..chit-chatting with my close friends , best sisters is another way i find myself enjoy the most. Never forget to add little savor to our conversation. hehe.

I have something to share with you all.

Someone wrote me a message the other day. - "You are such a unique girl with personality much bigger than life. There's always something new, and you always seems to be full of surprises and happiness throughout your life........"

Thank you, although I do not know you at all. but i am glad to know that you feel it that way, and hope my happiness will give you some motivation. =)

I failed my interview with the QX Australia company. I felt dissapointed. But that is the way it goes. too competitive! I am still thankful , at least I was given the great opportunity to show my ability and to introduce myself. A valuable experience! Everyone has our first time. I won't give up! *Winks* and i hope you won't give up too!

Went for another interview the other day. Its the worldwide online printing company. Rather big company in australia. Another new experience i gained!

Finally my Presario Notebook arrived. I was so happy when I heard the door bell rang, i supposed that I would have received it by yesterday. (After 2 weeks of waiting) and it really came. muahahaha... hehe..horray! *Grin* However I am still very new to laptop,the reason is I already get used to my desktop, but I know that this will be vanquished soon... heeh. The screen is perfectly clear and wide, and it is pretty light. * Good stuff*

A visit to Mount Coot-tha

Last night, after our groceries shopping, xiaoli suggested us to go mt coot-tha That was my first time visiting Mount coot-tha. We got home, brought along our jackets, and headed up to Mount coot-tha. Here, we get to view the beautiful panorama of Brisbane City. But too bad, last night the weather was drizzling, and we couldn't see anything from the top. The beautiful view was hidden in the mist. =(

We din't stay any longer in Mt coot-tha since we can't appreciate the beautiful view much. But last night, everyone learnt a good lesson. That was a good experience to stop by policemen when we were on our way to the mountain in a pitch black night..*Phew* Luckily it was only a routine police stop check. hehee.......

Welcome to Lei Lei's barbershop

*Ahemm* Yes i cut my hair myself most of my time. But this is the first time i do it for a friend..I can say he is really brave. hehe. This guy is so wanted to have a hair cut and get his hair dyed. That was why i ended up sleeping late last night..taken away my precious sleeping moments. From washing, blowing his hair, i then used my "magic" scissor to start cutting his hair off. * actually it's only a normal scissor i have, but i use that everytime i cut my hair*

That was an enjoyable hairdressing session. You should see the face expressions on his face! * made us all burst out laughing. muahaha. *Laugh out loud* Actually i was quite nervous, because I am afraid that I will mess up his hair badly. It's not my hair afterall. I can cut mine in whatever way i want. But this one, Gotta be careful. hehe..

From setting up the place, to finally finish cutting his hair. see how he looks like now compare with the previous hairstyle. hehee.........Hope he likes it! ^_^

we bought golden kinda color,wanted to make it bright ,but when David came out from his bathroom, the hair turned out to be more into reddish color. haha,.. but still, not bad!!

Plentiful

We enjoyed our fabulous cookings last night. Altogether, we made 6 dishes, including 1. Hot and spicy soup with potatoes, tomatoes, pork ribs, and carrots. 2. Fried Eggs 3. Pak Choy with chickens. 4. Fried fish with cut chilli. 5. Satay marinated chickens .6. Cabbage with egg. We all ate our head off, it was a good one! i love the fish the most. It's very crispy but soft inside. *Special thanks to Danny*

Having the soup made me feel like I am back to my home sweet home. I feel so contented.
